一般Short Essay都是话题性的，针对某个话题或者现象进行评论和分析，可以按照如下的结构进行写作：

第一部分：Introduction——Topics statement讲明文章主旨，表明文章的观点，Background介绍相关的背景和当前的发展情况，Summary of Essay argument(a thesis statement)。第二部分：Body先写出主题句，引出文章主要内容，如果分为不同的主题段，可以每个主体段都有一个Topic Sentence，之后在进行具体的阐述和解释（sentences to develop and explain the idea）。

第三部分:Conclusion，即Summary of essay argument+Restatement of significance of the topic。
